In this critical edition, edited by Archimandrite Meletios Anetakis, the opposite text contains the original text of one hundred and fifty (150) psalms of David and their translation into the colloquial language of the time of St. Athanasios, in the Cretan dialect of his childhood and adolescence. the common modern Greek language had not yet been formed, which dominated the pan-Hellenic language after 1821 on the basis of the Peloponnesian and Athenian idioms.
